EULAR Treatment recommendations 4S005: MSK US is highly sensitive and useful adjunct, but not recommended for routine mgmt in T2T. I find very useful for pts with unclear disease activity, but should be trained if using it #ACR20 @RheumNow

Serial RF titers? Abst#0754 from Japan: Pts with RF>45, tracked RF at month 0/4/12 after starting b/tsDMARD. 46/130 had RF decrease titers, had better radiographic remission/DAS28-ESR. Limits: varied Rx, More aggressive Rx w RF decrease grp @RheumNow. #ACR20

Large vessel vasculitis (LVV) and CNS vasculitis are rare subsets of vasculitis. The challenges related to these diseases are well known to the rheumatologists who treat around the world. Scoring hand x-rays for Sharp scores is painfully tedious and not always perfectly consistent.
Why not get a computer to do it? Turns out you can - a deep adaptive machine learning model does as well as a human, each x-ray in literally one second.

Another interesting study demonstrating the use of ultrasound to assess psoriatic arthritis. In very early, DMARD naïve PsA, clinically swollen joints are associated with PD synovitis, but tender, non-swollen joints are not @RheumNow #ACR20 Abst#313
