Interesting study presented by Dr Kent Kwoh in #KneeOA using the OAI data - effusion-synovitis produced heterogenous effects on pain reporting depending on the activity - walking, stairs, standing etc. effect not in bone marrow lesions

Why? Spermatozoa lack the FPGS enzyme responsible for MTX-PG metabolism, the tiny amount of MTX-PG in sperm isn’t active. No quality issues!

Day 2 at the international EULAR Congress meeting is always bigger and busier. Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) and Avascular osteonecrosis (AVN) – total 86 pts – 60 had both ONFN and AVN.
ONFN often b/l more morbidity, raynauds and low vit D compared to AVN

Pearls in AOSD – from #EULAR2023 Italian study of 64 patients – AOSD/sJIA pts who achieved drug-free remission more often had white blood cells count >15.000/uL at baseline, however those who were treated with cyclosporine likely failed drug free remission. Abst#AB1484 @rheumnow
