This new review reframes the diagnostic and therapeutic approach, moving away from pathoanatomic labels (rotator cuff tendinopathy, impingement, bursitis) toward the umbrella term subacromial pain, since structural findings on imaging correlate poorly with symptoms and are common in asymptomatic people.
