Cohort analysis of 251 SLE patients with and without new-onset arrhythmia (taken from 2499 incident SLE Taiwan claims data). Plaquenil use showed no increased risk of arrhythmia (adj OR = 1.49; 0.98-2.25) or ventricular arrhythmia (adjOR =1.02). https://t.co/vkTi3X7hiM

Real world study of 21 GCA patients over age 80 yrs taking tocilizumab. (for GC-sparing in 14, relapsing Dz in 8, severity in 4, DMARD failure in 4). 8 [2–21] months post-TCZ, 67% were off GCs. AE included 4 Hi Chol, 3 SIE, 2 cytopenia, 1 hi LFTs https://t.co/ER0ROQw4ma

There is no downside to promoting oral health in our patients. Even without RCTs, knowing that there are possible links between oral health and RA outcomes is enough reason to have discussions with our patients with periodontal disease, and encourage treatment #EULARJC

Textbooks say fever is common in lupus ("36%–86%") BUT IT IS NOT! Lupus is cause of FUO in 5%; Fever is seen in a minority of SLE onsets; Fever occurs w/ SLE complications - vasculitis, pneumonitis/serositis/alveolar hem, CNS, & INFECTION! https://t.co/KvZeo6Q1WY
