After years of bemoaning the challenges of telemedicine, our rheumatology clinic transition entirely to a remote clinic in the space of a week. One of the few good things to come out of this crisis is that we may learn that in-person visits are not as critical as we thought, which may in turn help our specialty’s access issues. The only thing we can’t do remotely, however, are infusions.
I have been an investigator for many clinical rheumatology studies over the past two decades but have never been a study subject until now. On October 31, 2020, I enrolled in the phase 3 trial of the Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA vaccine against SARS-CoV2 (protocol C4591001). Here's my experience.

The core problem of COI amongst docs is that the profession does not really care. Disclosure is not the solution. Divestment and recusal are, but no one inside wants to do that.
This was a case of failure to disclose (on a large scale) and the punishment was a promotion https://t.co/Q384TNnPy2
