OK, I am a guy, who had a sister, has a spouse, had literally nine aunts and have lots of friends who are women. So I know about the issues you raise because of my life experiences. While "Lipstick Rheumatology" has a certain ring to it, I know some woman who don't wear lipstick and tell me they think we could have a better name. I know there is no intended slight here, but maybe "sensitive rheumatology"or "free-thinking rheumatology" or "rheumatology that understands the variations in human experience "would be a better title. While my comments are meant in a light hearted way, I think you I make good points about understanding patients from perspectives other than our own. BTW I got the right answer to the question and to the iron deficiency scenario, but I only use ChapStick!
