Claims study of RA, PsA, AS/SpA patients on TNF inhibitors shows a comparison of 31,527 MTX vs 34,651 TNFi initiators. MTX was D/C sooner in PsA & AS [aHR 1.10, 1.23) vs RA pts. Concomitant MTX reduced risk of TNFi D/C in all [aHR 0.85, 0.81, 0.79] https://t.co/0l2J2FDsUm

Choi and colleagues have shown that allopurinol-associated severe cutaneous adverse reactions are higher with Heart (RR 1.44) and Renal (11 fold) disease. Initating low-dosage allopurinol may substantially mitigate this risk. https://t.co/gyj7Xn3uhx

Approximately 20–30% of IBD patients will develop spondyloarthritis. Using a survey tool on 244 IBD pts they found 21% with sufficient criteria to suspect SpA - Other risk factors included being female, Crohn's, prior DMARD or biologic drug use. https://t.co/9Ail7syLmB
