Joan, I appreciate and agree with your comments. Tables are needed for exams and the Physical Examination should never be discouraged. My slanted comments are about the inappropriate design of the old metal exam table and I have been just as efficient with lower, wider, easier tables - that I feel are alot safter. They also are good landing pads for a covey of children, 4 winter coats and homeworks assignments for those who wait. I wish I had thought of your spot-on line about our best tools = compassion and excellence!
