Trends in Gout and Rheumatoid Arthritis Hospitalizations in Canada from 2000-2011...indings indicate that hospitalization rates for gout have doubled over the past decade, while those for RA have decreased considerably. While these data provide an encouraging benchmark for RA care, they also highlight the critical need to improve gout management and prevention to mitigate its rising disease burden in Canada and beyond.
