It is sometimes an overused term, but Naomi was truly a giant. Kind, caring, supremely intelligent, she was everything you would want in a mentor. I met her through my father's affiliation with UConn, before I'd even decided to go to medical school, and she is absolutely one of the reasons that I am a rheumatologist today. She was an aspirational role model, and she will be missed by all of us who knew her.
