In 2025, Rheumatology lost many of our greatest clinicians, compatriots, and mentors. This is an honor roll for those who cared, taught, advised and supported many patients, and many of us. In their careers, these clinicians were profoundly influential, life-changing and delightful to many.  Dr. Len Calabrese has said, “… many [listed here] have touched me directly or indirectly. Remember, rheumatology is the biggest small club in the world.”

This is why these final listings affect so many of us.

These clinicians cared for hundreds of thousands, mentored and influenced as many and left an impressive legacy with their families and communities. Their diligent and painstaking devotion to d the most complex of patients and disorders was backed by genuine zeal, wonder and love for rheumatology.

Remember them, honor them, and invoke their names and memories often, as they are the foundation upon which we rheumatologists stand.
