Top 20 Best Rheumatology Hospitals - 2025

U.S. News & World Report has published its Best Hospitals for 2025, listing the best among many specialties, including rheumatology.  Each year, U.S. News ranks hospitals in 15 specialties and for the 8th year in a row, Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore has been named the top hospital for rheumatology by U.S. News & World Report. 

To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals’ performance on objective measures, measuring patient outcomes using data from over 800 million records of patient care.  U.S. News evaluates hospitals that service the following 15 specialties and 22 procedures & conditions.  The 10 best rheumatology hospitals ranked in were recommended by at least 5% of the rheumatology specialists responding to U.S. News surveys in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Another 18 hospitals were recommended by at least 1% of the respondents.

The top 9 rheumatology hospitals are largely the same as last year (with some minor shuffling) and includes the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), Brigham Hospital, and Mayo Clinic.

  7. UCSF Health-UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco
  8. UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles
  9. NYU Langone Hospitals, New York City
  10. University of Michigan Health, Ann Arbor
  11. University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital
  12. Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian, Philadelphia, PA
  13. Duke University Hospital, Durham, North Carolina
  14. UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, Pittsburgh, PA
