As a fellow, gray haired rheumatologist – family history to me is seldom helpful unless the family member who has lupus rheumatoid arthritis – whatever is actually a patient of mine, and I can verify the diagnosis. Everyone here in the south has rheumatoid arthritis because their grandma had rheumatism. Rheumatoid arthritis is synonymous with really bad osteoarthritis in most of my patients. Lol.
